Lullaby for Modern Times
This is a performance born from the current climate of instability and desperation that is spreading in Spain and other European countries. The video explores tenebrismo, a dark and gloomy use of chiaroscuro techniques by Baroque Spanish painters. |
|
The Encounter
The video deals with food and obsessive eating and borrows the aesthetics from Spanish Baroque still-life fruit paintings. |
|
Symphony In White nº1
The video takes as a starting point the painting Symphony in White by Whistler as a means to explore the relationship between artist and model and expectations and reality in the artistic process. |

Sarah Laing, Video-Portrait in Twelve Chapters.
This film was shot during the summer of 2009, in which I accompanied artist Sarah Laing through the creation of one of her pieces from beginning to end. Her studio was transformed into a film set where small talk, friends and phone calls cohabited with art making. |

Píntame (Paint me)
Two women perform for the camera. One of them acts like a passive canvas where the other one applies make-up. The video explores intimacy, confidence and sensuality through a highly baroque editing of the performance of two strangers having a purely sensorial encounter. |
